CDPAP, or the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, is a New York (NY) State Medicaid initiative that allows home care consumers to recruit, hire, and train their own personal caregiver.
In simple terms, this program allows people who need home care to choose the assistance they want, including most family members, and train them to provide them with personalized home care.

- They can earn up to $18 hour, bi-weely (subject to Taxes)

- Live in New York State
- Are eligible for New York State Medicaid*
- Require assistance with activities of daily living or skilled care
- Have a stable medical condition, be self-directing or have a designated representative that is willing and able to direct care
